Dell/EMC Launches Open Source Pravega, Complete with Apache Flink® Connector

At Flink Forward San Francisco 2017, Srikanth Satya and Tom Kaitchuck of Dell/EMC announced Pravega, an open-source streaming storage system.

If you'd like to learn more, the Flink Forward site has a link to both a recording of their presentation and also downloadable slides that go into detail on Pravega. And Tom spoke to George Gilbert of SiliconANGLE to elaborate on how Pravega differs from other streaming storage systems.

Pravega officially launched a few weeks later at Dell/EMC World in Las Vegas, complete with an Apache Flink connector. We at data Artisans are excited to see innovation in the streaming storage space, and we'd like to congratulate Dell/EMC on the launch. We'll share more of our thoughts on Pravega and its role in the stream processing space in the weeks to come.
